Purpose

The main purpose of Erasmus+ “Let’s go green!” project is to make young people start thinking critically and with tolerant attitudes about environmental degradation and to encourage them to become active factors of environmental protection, acting and modifying their own lifestyle as well as that of people in community. The objectives are:

  • developing sustainable attitudes about protecting the environment for students to ensure better living conditions in the future
  • raise awareness for students on environmental problems and actions which have to be undertaken from the perspective of people living in different European areas
  • encourage students to become active factors in environmental protection, acting and changing their own lifestyle as well as that of those around them
  • develop and promote the values needed to raise committed European conscious citizens

To encourage young people to become active factors of environmental protection, acting and modifying their own lifestyle as well as that of people in community during the mobilities teachers will involve students in ecological educational activities related to the 6 proposed topics.

Also, students will prepare institutional campaigns to raise awareness to environmental problems and factors that threaten local ecosystems, the stability of the Earth and the health of us all launching vlogs, podcasts for explaining how addressing sustainability challenges can help us address climate change, inequality, biodiversity and other 'wicked' problems.

During 2 years of project, in local work each partner: will create an eco-garden inside each partner school that will be maintained by students permanently; will collect necessary information about the problems that appear or are being resolved in their regions, and they will also organise environmental days included in the ecologist's calendar: world water protection day, forest day, earth day, world environment day etc. Students will create vlogs to draw attention to the effects of living in a polluted, dirty environment full of toxic substances.

Stages

The project will be divided into six stages dealing with EU policy areas, each related to the expertise and geographical location of the European partners involved, developing a better understanding of the European Green Deal goals, focusing in particular on the ones that deal with environmental sustainability focusing on different topics:

  • The European Green Deal - turning an urgent challenge into a unique opportunity
  • Accelerating the shift to sustainable and smart mobility
  • From ‘Farm to Fork’: designing a fair, healthy and environmentally - friendly food system
  • Preserving and restoring ecosystems and biodiversity
  • A zero pollution ambition for a toxic-free environment. Plastic and water pollution. Ways of eliminating pollution
  • Moving towards a clean and circular economy. Fast fashion, freecycle
