Neringos gimnazija Lithuania

Neringa Gymnasium is the only secondary school in this area which implements formal (primary, basic and secondary) and non-formal education programs. There are 155 students and 29 teachers. The school is a member of the UNESCO Associated School Network, has participated in Comenius, Erasmus, eTwinning projects successfully for many years.

Half of the students are facing a sharp decrease in self - motivation due to pandemic and distant learning. Neringa Gymnasium is an educational and cultural centre not only for school but also for the whole town community. Being distinguished from the mainland of Lithuania, school community lacks of possibilities to be active participants in educational and professional development regularly, therefore, seeking for different ways to build national and international collaborations, partnerships that would enable to ensure efficient modern, innovative, professional educational process.

Due to a well-developed IT network, innovative education process is being implemented. School facilities for active physical performances are also well developed both outside and inside the school.

However, having a wide range of possibilities to provide students’ needs, it does not always result in their high self-motivation, efficient participation in educational process or leading their active social life at/ outside school. Most of them lack of self-esteem and confidence, therefore, teachers aim to provide different ways to make their classes more engaging to foster creativity, personal and educational competences.
